Oregon Business Leader Invests in counterclaim
EUGENE, OREGON – June 10, 2001 - counterclaim announced today the investment of an undisclosed amount by Carolyn S. Chambers, President and owner of Chambers Communications Corporation into counterclaim. Chambers Communications is the parent company of KEZI 9 ABC in Eugene, OR, KDKF 31 ABC in Klamath Falls, OR, KDRV 12 ABC in Medford, OR, Chambers Productions, Chambers Cable, and Chambers Multimedia Connection. She is currently on the Board of Directors for C-SPAN (72X Pioneers), the National Legal Center for the Public Interest, and Sacred Heart Hospital. Carolyn S. Chambers has served as chairman of the board of Chambers Construction Company and as president of McKenzie River Motors, Inc.. She has also served on the U.S. Bancorp board of directors, the Oregon State Board of Higher Education 2010 Advisory Panel, and the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. She is an active member of the University of Oregon Foundation board of trustees, serving as co-chair of the Oregon Campaign. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including the National Cable and Telecommunications Idell Katz award for leadership.
In addition, Carolyn Chambers has provided leadership to cultural endeavors for more than 25 years. When the city of Eugene, OR committed public funding to build a performing arts center, she made a substantial personal investment and chaired an effort that raised $9 million of private support. After the completion of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, Chambers created the Silva Endowment, named after her parents, which in the past 15 years has provided millions in operating support to the Center's resident companies.
